Day 1: Arrival day
Info: if you buy the Jordan Pass before departure your visa fee will be waived upon arrival (www.jordanpass.jo) and your 1-day entry ticket to Petra and entry to Wadi Rum are included in the price of 70 JOD. Transfer by car to a hotel in Madaba; a mostly Christian town. If time allows you can visit the St. George church and the mosaics at the archaeological museum. We can recommend you a very nice Jordanian dinner at a local and unique restaurant: Haret Djoudna.

Day 2: Visit Petra
08.30 AM: transfer to Petra (3 hrs). You will be taken to the hotel where you can leave your luggage (Early check-in if possible). A short walk takes you to the visitor center of Petra where they scan your Jordan Pass and you start your (non guided) visit via the Siq, the Treasury, the street of façades and the colonnaded street. You can climb up to the monastery or the high place of Sacrifice. Today you will have dinner and a pre-ride meeting at Petra B&B with your guide for the horse ride.

Day 3: Horse riding: Start of the ride in the mountains
After breakfast: transfer to the starting point of the ride. In the mountains you start your adventure with great views over Petra. We always recommend wearing a riding helmet on the first day as the area is very rocky. 3 hrs of riding takes you to an area with natural springs and tree gardens with amazing views over Petra and Wadi Araba. After lunch we continue for another 2.5 hours via the viewpoint of Dilagha and then descending down into Wadi Thugra where we camp.

Day 4: Horse riding: To Wadi Rum
After breakfast you take down your tent, you brush and saddle your horse and the ride can start! We ride via a small Bedouin village and slowly but surely mountains become desert; we ride about 2.5 hours until we reach “the 3 trees”, the only shady place in this area where we have lunch. After lunch, we ride towards the village of Humayma, where we lead the horses across the Desert Highway into the north part of Wadi Rum, the Kharaza area. We ride 2 hours to the camp location; a beautiful U shape rock formation and sandy area. Be quick to take the saddle off your horse, he can’t wait to take a good sand-bath. It’s the perfect spot to see the moon rise over the mountains and to see a beautiful sunrise.

Day 5: Horse riding: Further into the desert
After breakfast, the third day of riding begins in a stunning part of the desert, far away from the tourist areas. Today we will see natural rock bridges, the "mushroom", and inscriptions and there will be plenty of nice sandy roads for long canters. In the morning we ride about 2.5 hours to our shady lunch location. Again there is plenty of time to relax, enjoy lunch, maybe take a little nap, make pictures and enjoy the scenery. After lunch we continue for another 2,5 to 3 hrs on endless sandy roads, perfect for long canters. In this area the sand has many colors so keep those cameras ready!

Day 6: Horse riding: Protected Area of Wadi Rum
Today we will ride via the mudflat to Um Salab where we cross into the Protected Area of Wadi Rum! In about 3 hours we ride via a stunning canyon to Um Ishrin, where we have lunch. After lunch we ride another 3 hours via the highest sand dunes in Wadi Rum and inscriptions of the Nabateans, via Laurence house to Burdah Bridge where we camp tonight.

Day 7: Horse riding: More amazing desert
This morning after breakfast we ride for about 2.5 hours from Burdah Bridge to the back of Um Fruth Bridge and in this area we have our lunch. After lunch we ride in 3 hours from Um Fruth Bridge to the 5 kilometer long Barrah Canyon where we camp. Enjoy the silence...

Day 8: Horse riding: Ride back to civilization
After breakfast we continue our ride through Barrah canyon and from there towards and through Siq Um Foos and Siq Um Atawaki where we will have the lunch. We ride about 2 to 2,5 hours this morning. After lunch we ride via the mud flat, where we can enjoy another good canter. This afternoon you say goodbye to your horse and to the team, transfer back to Petra where you will spend the night at a hotel where you can wash away all the dust. Dinner at Petra B&B.

Day 9: Dead Sea and Mabada
8.30 AM: transfer to the Dead Sea (3 hrs). You spend the afternoon at a 4* or 5* resort (depending on availability), where you have access to the beach, the pools and other facilities of the resort and where you enjoy lunch at their buffet restaurant (drinks are not included). Around 5 PM: Transfer to your hotel in Madaba via the scenic Mt. Nebo way through the hills.

Day 10: Departure
Pick up 2,5 hours before the departure time of your flight.

Riders must be fit, able to trot, canter and gallop and have experience with trail riding. Max weight = 85 kilo !
Riders are allowed to take care of their own horse, giving water and food, brushing and saddling at each stop.
